Welcome to The Student Loan's E-Newsletter
Better late than never! Welcome! We are so happy to finally have our e-newsletter out to all of our friends and fans. From now on we will have monthly (or so) updates on what is going on with the band and what upcoming shows we have. We have some great news to include in our first edition, so please, read on newgrass fans!
Appalachian Uprising
June 5-7 in Scottown, Ohio
The Student Loan is proud to announce that we are playing at Appalachian Uprising this summer! This is our first large-scale festival, so you all can imagine how excited we are. Main acts this year include Sam Bush, Larry Keel, Bobbie Osbourne, The Grascals, The Avett Brothers, and more. This past fall we played at Appalachian Uprising II: The Benefit, and it was an absolutely wonderful time. There's a laid back atmosphere, the camping is great, and the people are great. Thankfully, we've been invited back, and we're extending the invitation to you! Last summer there were around 9,000 people in attendance - check out the link at the bottom of this page for more information.
Thank You Northwest U.S.
We had such a great time last June, we'd like to take a moment to thank the people we met, and the venues and musicians we worked with while we were on our Northwest tour. You guys were great! Washington and Oregon are beautiful states (anyone still in Ohio - you've got to check it out), and you all welcomed us with open arms. We are anticipating returning to the Northwest - stick around for more updates. Check out our pictures of the June 2007 tour on our website, coming soon.

Newgrass Quote of the Month: "Who here has been to Hawaii? It's so boring. What's an overactive mandolin player supposed to do in Hawaii? The only thing people want to do is lay around in the sun and read. I like the reading part, but man, the sun freaks me out. I love the beach, except for the sun, sand, and water." - Chris Thile
